Emily Elliott

emilynic@umich.edu

With over 8 years of experience working 1-on-1 with a wide range of clients alongside internships supporting D1 athletes in strength training and sports nutrition, Emily blends technical expertise with deep empathy for the people she coaches. Her approach is rooted in safe, effective programming aimed at improving functional movement, athletic performance, and long-term quality of life.

Emily’s journey into strength and health began in high school, when she first recognized how deeply physical well-being impacts every dimension of life, from emotional regulation to mental resilience. That realization became a lifelong commitment to learning, refining, and teaching. Her coaching philosophy is built around the belief that training the body is also a powerful way to train the mind and that discipline, mobility, and symmetry lay the groundwork for meaningful transformation.

A two-time U of M graduate, Emily remains a dedicated student of the field. She regularly pursues continuing education, balancing research-backed methodologies with hands-on application. Her programs focus on restoring proper mechanics, building strength from the ground up, and tailoring strategies that meet each individual exactly where they are.

Emily holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Movement Science from the University of Michigan’s School of Kinesiology and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the NSCA. She also holds advanced certifications from USA Weightlifting (Level 1 & 2), Pre-Script (Level 1 & 2), NASM Corrective Exercise (CES), and is certified in First-Aid/CPR/AED by the American Red Cross.

Creative Consultant

Kevin Cai

Kevin is the creative force behind the branding, design, and storytelling at Drive Physiotherapy & Sports Performance. With a global perspective shaped by life across three continents, he brings a unique lens to everything from photography and video production to website design and visual identity. At Drive, Kevin ensures that every client experience is not only functional but deeply intentional, visually, emotionally, and experientially.

To Kevin, creativity is less about aesthetics and more about connection. He often describes himself as a “bucket of paint”: a tool that can highlight, support, or blend into something greater. Whether capturing the grit of human movement in a photo or designing a site that reflects the mission of Drive, his work aims to honor individuality while celebrating the broader human experience.

Kevin’s passion lies in bridging generations, cultures, and identities through visual storytelling. His work at Drive is an extension of that calling, creating a brand that doesn’t just look good, but feels alive and true to the people it serves.
